Is VillageHER just for women?

VillageHER is a platform created to support and empower women-led businesses. While we proudly focus on women in business, we welcome anyone who wants to be a part of a supportive community.

How do bookings and payments work?

When a client makes a booking the provider will receive an alert to their registered email as well as in their VillageHER inbox where they can approve or decline the booking. Once approved the client will be charged and the amount will be held by Stripe. Once the service is carried out or the product is received the client has the ability to mark the product/service as received which they should do. If the client does this it prompts Stripe to release the funds to the provider less the 8% service fee charged by VillageHER. If the client does not mark the product as received once 14 days passes from the day of purchase or date of service booking Stripe will release the funds to the provider automatically. Providers will need to have a Stripe account set up in order to receive funds.

Are there subscription fees or hidden fees?

Being a customer and booking services through VillageHER is completely free! For businesses accounts there are three subscription tiers that you can view at the link below. The tiers have different inclusion levels. Side hustle will simply allow you to have a page, list your products and services and receive bookings and payments - perfect for making extra cash on the side. Business Builder includes all if the Side Hustle inclusions however also gives the ability to share social media links and website links to increase exposure and grow your following. Market Leader includes everything previously mentioned as well as a social media spotlight every month on VillageHER socials as well as ALL listings are highlighted at the top of the category in order of best reviews. This gives you ultimate exposure and puts you at the top of the list! Villager charge an all inclusive 8% fee for service charges and booking fees on each sale or booking that is made through the platform. We pride ourselves on being transparent and low cost.

Can I get help to set up my page and listings?

Absolutely! We are here to help and want you to be successful. We understand not everyone is tech savvy and that is fine, that is why we are here to make things simple and easy of you to run your business. You can book a 1:1 session with one of our experts at a time and date that suits you. The expert will spend up to an hour with you to get help setting up your page and answer any questions you may have. You will need Microsoft teams to access this appointment. Upon booking you will receive an email with a teams link for your chosen time and date. You need to have your logo or display picture, your product descriptions and images and any other information you wish to share on your platform ready to go for your appointment. We cannot proceed without these. 24 hours notice required for change of date/time unless it’s extenuating circumstances - we value your time and ask that you value ours too. Cost of session $149.

What do I need to do once I sign up?

Once you sign up you will receive an email with a how to guide. The guide will walk you through how to set up your profile page as well as how to list products and services. You will be prompted to link your existing Stripe account to receive payment or set up an account with Stripe and verify your information if you don't yet have an account with Stripe. The set up process is very straight forward. You can book a 1:1 session with an expert if you need extra assistance to get set up. Expert help is bookable under the listing category "Support from an expert", there is a cost associated with this support if required.

How do you manage disputes?

If something doesn't go to plan we ask that you reach out to the service provider directly to resolve the issue. We do not take liability for the quality of providers products or services. If you cannot resolve it with the provider directly you can reach out to us at villagehearinfo@gmail.com and within 2 business days of receiving the product or service or when the service was scheduled to take place and we will review what has happened and make a decision on how to move forward. The platform is founded on trust and the reviews form a fundamental part of this process.
