July School Holiday To-Do Perth

The best things to do in Perth this Winter!

Written by Founder - Beth

School holidays! A phrase that brings so much excitement for kids, they’ve completed 10 weeks of schooling and are ready to have some time to switch off a little, spend time with their families, friends and explore the world outside of the school grounds!

Many parents can be left feeling a little unprepared for school holidays… the hype and expectations build and many parents are trying to still keep up with the demands of work and commitments too!

So let me just start with saying: intentionality and presence matters the most. You may not have much the time in the day to dedicate to school holidays activities, but its the intentionality behind those hours that you do that go a long way.

Let’s get a second thing straight before we look at activities: the old ‘social media is a highlight reel convo.’ We all know it, but it doesn’t quite remain front and centre of your mind in the hour when you’re scrolling socials, watching incredible things everyone has been up to that week and thinking to yourself “am I doing enough?”

My favourite memories of school holidays include pulling friends around the street in a make-shift go-kart, cake making competitions at home, and often times the creative things we ended up playing with siblings and friends when being allowed to get ‘bored.’

So this is your reminder to take the pressure off, make the most of the time and budget you do have, and enjoy the beauty of simplicity. And for those expeditions and adventures out of the house: We’ve got you covered in this article! Don’t forget to also check out our ‘outings’ page for more ideas!
